Elopement

An elopement is an intimate wedding for two, sometimes with a few close family members or friends. It often takes place abroad – during a short getaway or as part of your honeymoon.

Elopement once meant marrying in secret. Today, it’s a way to make your wedding day your own. It can be an intimate ceremony during a holiday or a full day with preparations, a photographer, flowers and a special dinner – just for two or with a few loved ones. You choose which traditions to keep.

Couples elope for privacy, simplicity, budget reasons or to spare guests a difficult journey abroad. But family and friends needn’t be left out – some venues offer live streaming, and you can celebrate together when you return home. Our articles explore the possibilities and practical questions worth considering when planning your elopement.

How to Choose a Photographer for Your Destination Wedding

There are photographs you can arrange, and there are moments you only get one chance to capture. The glance between you just before the vows. A parent's face when the ceremony begins. The laughter that comes when everyone's nerves finally give way. Years later, you may struggle to remember which flowers were on the table, but those photographs can bring the whole afternoon back.

Wedding Rings for Your Destination Wedding

You've found someone who makes you happy, someone you want to share your life with. Wedding rings can be a beautiful symbol of the promises you make to each other.
